Dans le Noir? the celebrated dining in the dark restaurant staffed by blind people and the youth homeless charity Centrepoint will be collaborating to host a gastronomic dinner for 50 of Centrepoint’s vulnerable 16-25 year olds to celebrate Dans le Noir’s 10th Anniversary and decade of successful charitable ventures. BRITS SPEND £134 ON THEIR HOMES TO IMPRESS DINNER GUESTS

British people typically spend £134 refreshing their homes to impress dinner guests. One in five (19%) confess to spending more than £250, 7% more than £500 and nearly one in ten (7%) have even bought a new TV before hosting a dinner party! St. Helens Helps Ensure Equality For Visually Impaired Rugby Fans

St Helens Rugby League Commentary for the Visually Impaired was set up in 1958. It was originally a form of hospital radio and based at Radio Whiston at Whiston Hospital. Great Night Out For Local Charity

Three events to help raise money for Salford Loaves and Fishes are being organised by Salford’s Ceremonial Mayor Councillor Peter Dobbs.  The organisation helps up to 60 homeless people a day with warm meals, health care, social activities, advice and support, Salford Lads and Girls Club and the Andrew Cooke Music Award Trust and Memorial Fund which helps children buy instruments and pay for music tuition.   The first event is a Swing night with Cadishead Band at Eccles Town Hall on January 30. Exhibition Planned To Illustrate Support Available To Disabled People

One of the UK’s leading disability charities is planning to hold an exhibition which examines assistive technology, mobility aids, support to help disabled people train for employment, and show how attitudes towards disabled people have changed over the 80 years of the charities existence. The Personal Independence Payment is a benefit which can help make sure people have enough money to cover the extra costs they may incur if they need help doing everyday tasks or have difficulty getting around outside their home.
