It is estimated that there are 3.5 million homeless people in the UK of which 5-10 percent have dogs or cats. That’s according to the National Coalition for the Homeless who are a national network of people who are currently experiencing such issues. Their mission is to create a world where everyone has a safe, decent, affordable and accessible home.
For those homeless people who have pets and are struggling to care for and provide food and shelter for them, there are organisations who can give a hand to make sure that your loyal friend remains healthy and is at no risk due to lack of food or water. This includes Food for Paws which is made up of a group of animal lovers who want to guarantee that all homeless animals have at least one meal a day. They don’t take cash donations but are willing to accept donations of FOOD, BEDDING, and TOYS COATS JACKETS (FOR ANIMALS) FOOD BOWLS AND ROLL MATTS.
